(Lead Guitars, Bass Harmony, Trumpet, Mandolin, and Rhythm Guitar) You could say that a
man that had a guitar in his hands before he could even crawl was destined
to be a great musician; well Andrew Sovine is one such man.
Andrew was born into this world a legacy to country music and to
showcase that fact his first baby pictures already were of him in the crib
with the family's tools of trade, a Gibson J-200.
After receiving his very own guitar at the age of six, Andrew
Sovine began absorbing country, rock, and blues riffs and songs that
evolved him into the polished player he is today. His life has been filled
with two great loves; the love of God and the love of music.
The diversity of listening to his grandfather's (Grand Ole Opry
member Red Sovine) legendary country records, combined with his father's
visionary style of guitar playing and singing, a soulful mix of Bluegrass,
Blues, and Classic Rock, has helped influence Andrew's distinguished style
of modern country guitar picking. If
you were lucky enough to be in the crowd of the Grand Ole Opry one
faithful night in 1998 you might have seen little Andrew, at the tender
age of 12, on stage with his guitar strumming along with the Opry Band.
Andrew's first major venture into the world of live music, though,
was with a small Christian punk band, Filament.
Later he toured regionally with the band Ezra's Prayer, bringing
their beautiful mix of music and ministry to the Southeast.
Through out High School Andrew polished another musical talent
while playing the trumpet along to Miles Davis in the high school marching
band. He also sang in the
Hickman Co. High School show choir, garnering many awards and achievements
including placing second overall in a national competition held in
Washington D.C. in 2001. In order to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, Andrew began leading worship at his church when he was just eleven
years old, and continues to remain active in the music ministry.
To date Andrew has played for many acts including John Abernathy,
Jaci Prey, Alexis, and was invited to try out for Hank Williams the III
in 2004. In the fall
of 2005 Andrew again started traveling the nation with Country Gospel
greats The Fox Brothers. Currently
Andrew sings the bass harmony, lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin for the
brothers as well as playing trumpet on their award winning rendition of
Amazing Grace. |
